Warner Music Group has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Revelator, a B2B music platform that provides digital music distribution, rights management, royalty accounting, and real time analytics to independent businesses worldwide.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close next quarter.
Formed in 2012, Revelator has developed a cloud based platform serving hundreds of clients across the independent sector. The company’s offerings include Revelator Pro, its flagship service, along with Revelator API and white label solutions that enable artists, labels, and distributors to streamline operations and financial reporting.
The platform is designed to handle full stack music operations, combining distribution infrastructure with rights management tools and analytics.
Revelator’s team brings expertise in music, technology, and revenue management, which will be integrated into WMG’s global operations following the close of the transaction.
According to WMG, the acquisition will transform the suite of services that Warner Music labels and its independent distribution arm ADA offer to artists and the independent community.
The company stated that the integration is expected to scale WMG’s reach in the independent sector while Revelator continues to service its existing customers.
Robert Kyncl, CEO of Warner Music Group, addressed the strategic importance of the deal. “The combination of Revelator’s leading edge technology and array of premier services with our global infrastructure will turbocharge our joint mission to support more labels and artists around the world. I’m very pleased to welcome the Revelator team to the WMG family.”

The Revelator acquisition arrives amid broader consolidation across the independent distribution sector.
Universal Music Group recently completed its acquisition of Downtown Music Holdings for $775 million, a deal that underwent extended regulatory scrutiny from European authorities before receiving conditional approval in February 2026.
