MBM and SongDis Partner to Empower Independent African Artists

Music Business Monday (MBM), the community-driven education platform, has entered a strategic partnership with Africa-built distribution service SongDis.

The alliance aims to bridge the gap between music industry education and practical tools for independent artists and entrepreneurs across the continent.

The collaboration will position SongDis as a recommended distribution and rights-management platform within the MBM ecosystem, which is known for its weekly industry conversations and educational sessions.

In return, SongDis will support MBM’s mission to educate and connect the next generation of African music professionals, offering members streamlined access to its services.

MBM founded by Ugwoke Chinonye, focuses on music business education, artist development, and community building through live sessions and curated discussions.

SongDis, founded by Melody Nehemiah, is a distribution and rights management platform designed specifically for the African market, offering global distribution, analytics, and instant payouts in local currencies.

This partnership with MBM is about turning knowledge into execution and helping creatives build sustainable careers without sacrificing ownership.”

Key objectives of the partnership include equipping creatives with practical tools alongside industry education, simplifying access to distribution and monetization, and supporting the development of sustainable independent careers.

The move reflects a growing trend of alignment between educational platforms and service providers in Africa’s fast-evolving music sector, as stakeholders seek to strengthen the infrastructure supporting the continent’s booming creative economy.
