Highvibes Distribution, a major Africa-based music distribution company, has entered into a global distribution and licensing partnership with Beatport, the leading global platform for electronic music.

Through the direct integration, Highvibes will be able to deliver electronic music releases from independent African artists directly to Beatport’s global marketplace. The deal is designed to increase visibility for emerging artists among DJs, curators, and tastemakers who influence club and festival culture worldwide.

Founded with a mandate to simplify global distribution while protecting artist ownership, Highvibes has expanded its reach through direct platform partnerships. The Beatport agreement represents a significant expansion of its licensing capabilities for genre-specific global markets.

“This partnership is about readiness and access,” said Gbolahan Mathias Ogunade, CEO of Highvibes Distribution. “Electronic music has a highly structured global ecosystem, and Beatport is at its forefront. Through a direct integration, we’re ensuring that African artists who are properly positioned can compete on the same global stage as their peers anywhere in the world.”

Beatport operates as a genre-specific platform, meaning only releases that clearly fall within defined electronic music genres will be eligible for delivery. Highvibes has emphasized the importance of accurate genre classification, metadata, and rights readiness to ensure smooth distribution across the platform.

“Beatport operates with a distinct set of expectations around genre clarity and catalog structure,” said Welbeck Konney, President of Highvibes. “This partnership enables us to meet those standards at scale for artists distributing through Highvibes.”

Since its launch, Highvibes Distribution has supported over 20,000 independent artists with global distribution, rights management, and education on music business practices. The Beatport deal further solidifies its position as a key infrastructure provider within Africa’s expanding music economy.
