Apple Music Expands Concert Discovery Across Apps and Platforms

Apple Music has rolled out a series of concert discovery features across its ecosystem, integrating live event information into Apple Music, Shazam, Maps, Photos, and Spotlight Search.

The updates aim to help fans find nearby shows, track tour dates, and access ticketing information directly within Apple’s native applications.

Apple Music now displays concert recommendations directly on the Home tab. Users see a Concerts section featuring nearby shows from artists they follow, with additional recommendations appearing in the Top Picks section.

The Search tab also includes a Concerts category, allowing fans to explore shows by location, date, or genre.

Artist pages, album pages, and select playlist detail pages now display badges indicating upcoming tour dates. When fans tap a concert listing, they are directed to a Concert Detail page containing artist name, tour name, images, venue details, and ticket purchasing options. Users can also add tour dates directly to their calendar.

Fans can enable concert notifications in Settings to receive alerts about nearby shows from their favorite artists.

The concert discovery features extend to Shazam. When users identify a song through the app, they can view upcoming shows for that artist, browse available tickets, add concerts to their calendar, and access venue information. Shazam users can also save concerts to their account and explore shows happening globally through Shazam.com.

Spotlight Search on iPhone now surfaces upcoming shows when users search for select artist names. Swiping down on the home screen and entering an artist name brings up concert dates, with dedicated concert pages accessible by tapping any listed show.

Apple Maps also incorporates concert information. Fans searching for specific venues can access ticketing options and view upcoming shows through a Shazam integration.

Apple Maps additionally offers over 65 curated Apple Music Guides and Classical Guides highlighting top live music venues in select cities worldwide. Users browsing Guides by city, genre, or music scene can access concert pages for featured venues.

The Photos app now displays concert details in the Info panel for images captured at live events. From the concert detail page, fans can listen to the artist’s top songs, view tour set lists when available, and browse upcoming shows.

Apple Music for Artists allows musicians to create Set List playlists for their tours. Once published, these playlists appear on the artist’s Apple Music page and Apple Music for Artists profile.

They also distribute to Apple Maps, Photos, Shazam artist pages, concert pages within the Shazam app, and Shazam.com.

Set List playlists display in order of popularity and can be shared by artists across social media platforms. The company has also introduced editorial Set List playlists spotlighting major upcoming tours, with curated selections appearing alongside concert information.

Concert discovery features are available for select artists, with content curated by Apple Music’s editorial team. The company has been expanding its focus on live music integration across its services as part of broader efforts to connect streaming engagement with real world events.
